THE FOUNDER · WYATT LAREW
License #413.
And the road that got us here.

"I almost didn't make it out of 2019. What I did make it out with was a clearer view of what mattered."
In the spring of 2019, Wyatt Larew received a kidney transplant. Before that came months of dialysis, hospital food, and the kind of slowed-down time that makes you take inventory of your life. Wyatt had spent years working in Texas hemp - quietly, mostly behind the scenes. The transplant was the line in the sand.
"I'd been around the plant my whole adult life," he says. "But after the transplant, I started thinking about who actually needed it. Not just the people who wanted to party - the people who couldn't sleep. The veterans. The ones managing pain without losing themselves to opioids. The ones who'd been told for forty years that this was a vice instead of a tool."
License #413
In 2022, working alongside co-founder Dustin Ragon, Wyatt secured Texas hemp producer license #413 - making Wyatt Purp the first licensed cannabis company in North Texas. Not a smoke shop. Not a CBD pop-up. A real, vertically-integrated, state-compliant cannabis company. Operating legally under the 2018 Federal Farm Bill and Texas DSHS regulations.
It wasn't fast. Texas is not a state that makes cannabis easy. Every batch is third-party tested. Every product carries a COA. Every sale is logged. The compliance is exhausting - and that's exactly the point.
The mission
Wyatt Purp exists for two reasons: to make exceptional Texas hemp accessible to the people who want it, and to prove that legal cannabis in Texas can be built with integrity, not loopholes.
We hand-roll our pre-rolls in Denton. Our edibles have won awards in three years running. Our flower comes from farms we've personally walked. The wellness tinctures were formulated for people like Wyatt himself - people who need the plant to do something, not just feel like something.
The shop
The Denton location at 700 W Hickory opened to serve UNT, the surrounding neighborhoods, and anyone willing to drive in for the real thing. It's a dispensary, but it's also a place where you can actually talk to someone. Bring questions. Get answers that aren't off a script.
Come see us on Hickory Street. We'll be the ones who look like we mean it.
